Pedra da Gávea
One of Rio's highest coastal peaks, above São Conrado.
A demanding hike of about 3 hours each way through forest to an 844m summit, with a rock scramble near the top. The view runs from Barra to the Zona Sul beaches. Go early with water, and consider a guide for the final section.
